Thursday Press #108: what did you say?
[30 NOV 2023] sign up for the Pinterest content strategy masterclass now!
You can only say “huh” so many times before you have to accept that you'll never understand what your friend is saying and it's time to make like the Madagascar penguins…
So you smile and nod and hope for all you're worth that they didn't just tell their guinea pig died or a flock of birds shat on their hair immediately after stepping out of the salon.
Maybe that's dramatic, but that's what I felt every time I heard someone say the word “strategy”.
“You have to have a strategy!”
“Swipe my guaranteed strategy for a 6-figure business!”
“Here's how to succeed on social media – create a strategy, duh!”
Umm… excuse me, I seem to have entered the Charlie Brown universe and all I'm hearing is “whomp whomp”.
“Strategy” is one of those words that everyone seemed to throw around without ever truly defining or explaining it, let alone how to actually create one.
Impostor syndrome was sitting there like a devil on my shoulder, screaming “How can you even call yourself a Pinterest manager if you don't know what a strategy is?!?!?!”
And I was long past the point of asking someone else to explain (the “huh” of the online world).
Even if I did ask just oooone more time, there's still no guarantee I'd actually understand.
See, my particular flavor of neurodiversity comes with a generous helping of auditory processing issues — difficulty distinguishing words, slow processing speeds, and I always have subtitles on.
Lemme take you on a journey to see how this shows up IRL…
I was minding my own business, chatting with a new friend, who was telling me about his job in the forest service.
But I didn't hear “forest service." I heard something more like “frshelvish”.
What was that?
“Frshelvish!”
I'm so sorry, did you say forest service or floor service?
“Forest service!”
Okay check, heard. Now… what does that mean?
Talk about communication difficulties. 🤦🏼♀️
In this situation, it was totally appropriate, encouraged even, to ask my friend to explain. Yes! Tell me more about your passion for trees!!!
But in a cutthroat online world where everyone's posturing, trying to prove their knowledge, and refusing to demonstrate weakness, I was NOT going to put my neck on the line to ask about a BASIC marketing concept. Right?
Well, sort of…
I made it my personal mission to shut up that impostor devil and learn everything I could about ~strategy~. From asking my peers, studying what strategy looks like in other industries, and testing & developing a signature strategy process with my clients, I learned a lot.
And now I'm teaching you everything I've learned.
BELOW THE FOLD
A few Thursdays ago, I shared that you could get access to a bonus Pinterest masterclass if you joined Between the Lines Copy's Site Series course.
While the Site Series cart might be closed, I've got something even better for ya!
I'm hosting a LIVE masterclass on Wednesday, December 13th at 2pm EST!!! 🎉🤩
This 90-minute masterclass and Q&A session will teach you how to create a Pinterest content strategy rooted in proven knowledge of how Pinterest actually works.
If you're tired of the constant guesswork, uncertainty, and just plain wasted time on giving your all to Pinterest without the results to show for it, this masterclass is for you!
I can't give you a universal Pinterest strategy that's guaranteed to work.
But I can teach you the foundations of the algorithm and help you ask the right questions to guide the creation of your own uniquely effective strategy.
(And I won't make you ask “huh” a dozen times to understand it.)
Here's what else I'll be teaching in the masterclass:
How the Pinterest algorithm works & how to make it work for you
Best practices for picking & creating Pinterest-optimized content from what content you already have
A 4-step framework to plan and implement your Pinterest content strategy
Must-have tips, tools, & resources to keep up a sustainable Pinterest workflow
& I can't wait to share it all with you!!!
>> First, click here to register for the masterclass.
If you can't make it live, don't worry — everything will be recorded and you'll have access to both the recording and the slides from the class!
BONUS: The day before the class, you'll get access to a Content Strategy workbook to follow along with the prompts and questions throughout the masterclass. This workbook is designed to help guide you through the Pinterest content creation process even beyond the class!
ARE YOU HERE FOR IT???
