Hearing a mysterious sound from the corner of your dark room in the middle of the night is how most horror movies start, right?
That's probably why I pushed off my partner's concerns and requests to investigate the noise…
I was comfortable, and the sheets were exactly the right temperature of cold. Why in the heck would I want to get up and examine the moving pillow pile?
To make a short story even shorter, she was right. Our cats had gotten hold of their crinkliest toy and were trying to dig right through the floor to hide it.
