Thursday Press #62: is short or long content better?
[5 JAN 2023] how to plan better content in 2023
💠join me on a walk through your imagination, First name / friend…
Think of your favorite thing in the world.
Now make it tiny.
I'm willing to bet it got 10,000x cuter.
I can't explain it, but itty bitty replicas of real-life things are just irresistible.
Maybe you've witnessed the Mini Brands craze, or maybe you, like me, stumbled across the tiniest tub of Nutella you've ever seen in the Target stocking stuffer aisle.
..that actually might be a little too niche, now that I think about it…
Here's the thing. For whatever reason, we're drawn to tiny things. And the same can be applied to your content strategy.
If you're in the midst of whipping up grand content plans for your business, you're going to want to keep reading…
THE SMALLER, THE BETTER
& I'm not mixing my metaphors here.
While it's true that long-form, value-packed content is the key to success in your content marketing strategy, that doesn't mean you have to create a 5,000-word blog post or 10-post IG carousel series that shares every single bit of knowledge you have.
Quite honestly, your audience doesn't want that.
In the same way that I'm more likely to impulse buy a tiny container of Nutella, your ideal client is more likely to click on a blog that offers a specific solution to their specific problem.
There's a time and place for comprehensive content (ahem, paid products).
But if you really want to build a reputation for truly helping, it's the quick wins and bite-sized tips that are going to stick out in people's minds.
Bonus: it's a lot easier for you to create, too.
Whether you're batching Reels, planning your 2023 blogs and emails, hunting for idea pin ideas, or even brainstorming freebie ideas, remember this:
Make it miniature.
Specific, actionable, and still value-packed content is the way to your ideal client's heart (and wallet).
THAT BEING SAID…
