I have a billion and three things I want to share with you today, bestie.
But since it's a Friday and you have better things to do, I'll try and keep it to a cool half-mil, k?
WHAT I'M LEARNING
I don't know about you, but apparently I've been really taking my legs for granted…
As you'll find out when we get to this month's fave self-care activity, I've been a lot more active lately and have been paying the price in the form of aching muscles.
Add approaching sandal weather to the mix and it's safe to say my lower body is in need of some extra TLC.
First of all, I cannot BELIEVE I'm about to tell you this, but I've always struggled to keep my feet looking pedicure perfect. We're talking cracked heels, months-old polish, the works. 🥴
But I'm determined to break the cycle of foot shame and these two products have absolutely changed the game for me:
My feet have never been so soft, so easily, and with lasting results without having to sleep in Vaseline & socks!
The second component of what I've been learning this month is a whoooole lot of stretching. I'm still searching for my perfect stretching routine, but I can tell you I've never taken calf raises more seriously in my life.
If you have any recs, please send 'em my way!!!
WHAT I'M LOVING
Favorite Book: I'm on a bit of a YA kick lately, and I'm not hating it. And while the books I'm sharing are both technically YA, they're amazing and worth the read no matter what age!
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett – Handmaid's Tale meets Hunger Games meets Lord of the Flies
I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys – A poetic, raw, beautifully written historical thriller about Romania in the late 1900s
Favorite Desk Tunes: You know I can always go for a good lo-fi moment, and now I've got another playlist to add to the rotation!
I've also been listening to a lot of Maisie Peters, Joy Oladokun, and boygenius.
Favorite Self-Care Activity: Ever since joining my local community sports league (of busting-my-🍑-in-the-mud fame), I've remembered just how much I love team sports.
Don't get me wrong, I'll always love a walk with a podcast or a solo sweat sesh at home, but something about running around like a goof in a field with friends DOUBLES the normal exercise endorphins.
I've been going to soccer and volleyball so far, and we did just buy tennis rackets and a basketball… tell the YMCA to be on the lookout!!!
(I don't know who I think I am but I'm excited for us to go on this journey together.)
It's also pushing me to be more social and get out of my comfort zone a bit, which is always good self-care, especially when followed up with an introvert-friendly recovery day.
Favorite Posts: ICYMI, here are 2 of my favorite IG posts from April!
Favorite Coffee Order: Almond + Dark Chocolate + Coconut = Almond Joy in a cup. Enough said. You're welcome.
And of course, here's this month's favorite cat pictures:
Taken on a very sleepy, sunny Sunday 🥹
If I'm being honest, this edition of Friday Favorites feels a little ~chaotic~, but that's kinda the point. In case you need it, here's a reminder to let loose a little when it comes to your business & marketing.
April's been a funky month for me and a lot of the people I've been chatting with, and I think it's a good reminder to release any rules and pressure you've got around creating content, running your business, or anything!
Be you, do you, and have fun ✌️
